Four common classification methods for trucks
Trucks are divided into mini trucks, light trucks, medium trucks, and heavy trucks according to the tonnage.
1.Mini truck: total mass less than 1.8 tons
2.Light truck: total mass is 1.8-6 tons
3.Medium truck: total mass is 6-14 tons
4.Heavy duty truck: total mass greater than 14 tons
2.Truck operating principle and various system functions
The truck consists of four parts: the engine, the chassis, the body and the electrical system. Truck operations are primarily driven by the engine and chassis, where the chassis includes the driving system, the steering system, and the brake system.
Truck operation principle: When we start the truck, the engine will generate power and transmit the power to the gearbox. After the power is expanded by the gearbox, it will be transmitted to the rear axle through the transmission shaft, and the rear axle will drive the rear wheel to rotate. Then the truck wll move.
3.Each part of the function and main components:
A. Engine: The power source of the truck.The function is to make the fuel burn and generate power.
B. Chassis: Consists by sub-drive system,driving system, steering system and brake system.
(1)Drive System:The power of the engine is transmitted to the drive wheel, which mainly includes the clutch, the gearbox, the drive shaft and the drive axle.
(2)Driving system: Connect the various assemblies and components of the car into a whole and support the whole truck to ensure the normal driving of the truck.Mainly including the frame, front axle, wheels, suspension.
(3)Steering system: to ensure that the truck can drive in the direction selected by the driver during driving, mainly including steering mechanism, steering gear and steering transmission.
(4)Brake system: Deceleration, parking and reliable parking of the truck.It mainly includes brake operating mechanism, brake and transmission.
C. Body: The place where truck drivers work and load goods. Includes cab and cargobody
D. Electrical equipment: An electrical system that assists the driver in driving the vehicle, including batteries, starting systems, lighting equipment, and meters.
